I am a 6th generation Vancouver Island family descendant. Born in Vancouver and having lived my whole life on the West Coast of British Columbia, fishing and being on the water is in my blood. There is no better feeling than reeling in a trophy salmon or fighting a huge halibut from the depths of the ocean. Having fun and coming back to the dock safely after an ocean adventure is the most important part.
Being involved in tourism has always been a passion of mine. I have a Degree in Tourism Management and a Diploma in Outdoor Recreation Management from Capilano University.
When it came time to look for a great fishing platform to start my own marine charter business, I spent relentless time and energy to find a great boat. Only to figure out that if you really want a custom boat, then you should build it yourself. And that is what I did. After two years construction and a lifetime of frustration, I completed my custom 23ft aluminum charter fishing boat.
The Helen June, named after my two grandmothers, is commercial grade and ready to fish.
The West Coast of British Columbia is an amazing and pristine area to explore but can be treacherous if you are unprepared or inexperienced. My background growing up around the ocean and fishing is complimented by my dedication to marine safety and training. I was a member of the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCMSAR) Station 37 in Sooke. The best skills and practices to keep people safe and come home with your catch are what I believe in.
